Class Descriptions


* Tai Chi and Qigong for Health and Wellness -  For students who are new to Tai Chi, Seniors, and those with limited mobility, this class offers a more gradual entry into Tai Chi and Qigong. The pace of the class is more relaxed and the movements are less demanding. Although the class is generally taught standing, it can also be enjoyed and practiced by students whose lack of mobility requires that they be seated. In this class we will cover the Tai Chi Shibashi Qigong breathing exercises and the individual postures which make up the Short 9 Posture Yang style Tai Chi form.


* Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong  -  This basics class covers the Short 9 Posture Yang style Tai Chi form, drills and patterns specific to the form and the first half of the supporting Tai Chi Shibashi Qigong breathing exercises.


* Simplified 37 Posture Yang Form   -  This class covers the Simplified 37 Posture Yang Form developed by Grandmaster Cheng Man Ching. In addition, the Tai Chi Shibashi Qigong breathing exercises will be completed and complementary new Qigong breathing exercises will be added. For most students this class will follow the Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong class.


* Insights Into Tai Chi Chuan Applications  -  In this class, more advanced students and those who plan teaching Tai Chi Chuan in the future, will have the opportunity to gain a more in-depth understanding into the how’s and why’s of the martial applications that is the basis for traditional Tai Chi Chuan.
